Gloomy day in Korea, which food do people prefer to eat?
It is Jeon. Jeon can be made with various ingredients such as fish, mince or vegetables. So Jeon interestingly has a lot of different names like Potato Jeon, Kimchi Jeon, depending on what ingredient is in.
Korean usually eats this food both at national holidays and at gloomy days to do their heart good, particularly with Makgeolli; Korean rice wine, which means Jeon is very special food for important days in Korea.
Then shall we make three of the most famous Jeon in Korea; Zucchini Jeon, Kimchi Jeon and Potato Jeon?

Zucchini Jeon
Ingredients
1 Zucchini, 2 eggs, salt, 2 spoons of flour
Direction
1. Cut zucchini into 5mm
2. Beat eggs well in a small bowl.
3. Mix flour and a little salt well.
4. Coat the sliced zucchini with the prepared flour.
5. Coat the zucchini with beaten egg and fry them until the edge becomes brown.
Kimchi Jeon
Ingredients
Kimchi 300g, a little salt, 4 spoons of flour, 1 egg, water
Direction
1. Chop Kimchi into small pieces.
2. Put chopped Kimchi into a bowl
3. Add flour, beaten egg and a little salt into the bowl.
4. If the mixture is too dry, add drops of water; if the mixture is too wet, add small amounts of flour
5. Ladle the mixture into the heated pan, and spread it. Cook it until the edge becomes brown.
Potato Jeon
Ingredients3 Potatos, 1 egg, a little salt
Direction
1. Shred potatos. (You can blend potato too. but texture of the Jeon made with shredded potato is better than made with blended potato.)
2. Add egg and salt into the shredded potato.
3. Ladle the mixture into the heated pan, and spread it. Cook it until the edge becomes brown.
Cabbage Jeon
Ingredients
a quarter of Cabbage, bacons, salt, 2 spoon of flour, water
Direction
1. Shred cabbage and bacon. If there are more ingredients you want to add, shred it together.
2. Put shredded ingredients into a bowl and add flour, salt and just a little water.
3. Ladle the mixture into the heated pan, and spread it. Cook it until the edge becomes brown.
4. Cabbage Jeon goes with mayonnaise or BBQ sauce really well.
