Special Orange you can meet in Korea; Hallabong

The most famous island, Jeju Island has a very special fruit, which is Hallabong. Hallabongs original name is Dekopon. But it is called as Hallabong in Korea because the shape of the fruit looks like Mount Hallasans peak. (Hallsan is the highest mountain in South Korea and also a shield volcano on Jeju Island.)

Hallabong looks like an orange but the skin is peeled off well and it tastes like mandarin, which means Hallabong is sweeter and less sour than an orange. It is why Hallabong is more popular than an orange in Korea.

Hallabong is harvested from February to March, which means these days are the best time to eat Hallabong in Korea. Moreover, longer you keep them, more surprisingly delicious Hallabong is.

The price of Hallabong is similar to an orange, but it is more special and delicious.
We highly recommend you to eat Asias fruit, Hallabong, particularly in Jeju Island.
